テサロニケ人への手紙第２ 1章

テサ２　１

１　パウロ、シルワノ、そしてテモテから、わたしたちの父なる神と主イエス・キリストとにあるテサロニケの人たちの教会へ。

２　私たちの父なる神と、主イエス・キリストからの恵みと平安とがあなたがたにありますように。

３　わたしたちは、いつもあなたがたのことを神に感謝せずにはおられません。私の兄弟たちよ。またそうするのが当然なことなのです。なぜなら、あなたがたの信仰が素晴らしく成長し、あなたがたひとりびとりの愛がお互の間に増し加わっているからです。

４　そのために、わたしたち自身は、あなたがたが被っているすべての迫害と苦悩の中での忍耐と信仰とについて、神の諸教会に対してあなたがたを[1]誇っています。

５　なぜなら、この事は神の正しいさばきについての[2]明らかな徴であって、あなたがたを神の王国に[3]完全にふさわしい者とみなされるためのものだからです。

６　[4]すなわち、あなたがたを悩ます者には患難をもって報い、

７　[5]苦しめられているあなたがたには、主イエスが彼の力ある天使たちを率いて天から[6]現れる時に、あなたがたにわたしたちと一緒に休息を与え、

８　神を知らない者たちや、わたしたちの主[7]イエス・キリストの福音に従わない者たちに炎の火の中で[8]報復なさる事は、[9]少なくとも神の御前に正しい事なのです。

９　彼らは主の御前と彼の力の[10]栄光から、永遠の滅亡の刑罰を受けるのです。

１０　その時、その日に、彼は彼の聖徒たちの賛美と、信じる全ての人たちの間の[11]称賛のうちに来臨されるのです。（なぜなら、あなたがたに対する私たちの証しが信じられているからです）

１１　ですから、わたしたちは、私たちの神があなたがたを召しにふさわしい者とし、[12]全ての善の喜びと信仰の働きとを実現させて下さるようにと、いつもあなたがたのために祈っているのです。

１２　それは[13]わたしたちの神、すなわち主イエス・キリストの恵みにしたがって、あなたがたの間でわたしたちの主イエスの御名に栄光が帰され、また、あなたがたも主にあって栄光を受けるためなのです。

 

2Th 1:1  Paul and Silvanus and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Th 1:2  Grace to you, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Th 1:3  We are bound to thank God always for you, my brothers, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you abounds toward one another;

2Th 1:4  so much so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure.

2Th 1:5  For this is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God for which you also suffer,

2Th 1:6  since it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you,

2Th 1:7  and to give rest with us to you who are troubled, at the revealing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with the angels of His power,

2Th 1:8  in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,

2Th 1:9  who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

2Th 1:10  when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day.

2Th 1:11  Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of the calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,

2Th 1:12  that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

テサロニケ人への手紙第１ ２章

1 兄弟たちよ。あなたがた自身も、わたしたちがあなたがたの所に入ったことが、むだではなかったことを知っています。

2 あなたがたの知っているとおり、わたしたちは以前ピリピで苦しみを受け、辱めを受けた後でさえ、わたしたちの神にあって大胆に、また、激しい論争を伴いながら、あなたがたに神の福音を語ったのです。

3私たちの勧めは、偽りでも、汚れでも、悪知恵でもなかったからです。

4しかし、私たちが福音を委ねられる者として神に認められたように、私たちも、人に喜ばれるようにではなく、私たちの心を試される神に喜ばれるように話しているのです。

5あなたがたも知っているように、わたしたちは、お世辞を言ったことも、貪欲の隠れ蓑を使ったこともありません。神がその証人です。

6 私たちは、キリストの使徒として敬わることもできたのに、あなたがたからも、またほかの人からも、人からの栄光を求めませんでした。

9 兄弟たちよ。あなたがたは、わたしたちの労苦と苦労を覚えているでしょう。わたしたちは、あなたがたのだれにも負担をかけまいと、夜も昼も働き、神の福音をあなたがたに宣べ伝えたのです。

10 わたしたちがあなたがた信者の間で、いかに聖く、正しく、非難されるところなく生活したかは、あなたがたも、また神も、その証人です。

11 あなたがたが知っているとおり、わたしたちは、父親がその子にするように、あなたがたひとりひとりを励まし、慰め、戒めました。

12 それは、あなたがたをご存じのとおり、神の御国と栄光とに招いてくださった神にふさわしく歩むようにと、あなたがた一人ひとりを励まし、慰め、戒めたからです。

13 こういうわけで、わたしたちは絶えず神に感謝しています。あなたがたは、私たちから聞いた神の言葉を受けたとき、それを人間の言葉としてではなく、真実に神の言葉として受けたからなのです[2]。そして、その言葉は、信じるあなたがたのうちにも力強く働いています。

4 兄弟たちよ。あなたがたは、ユダヤにいるキリスト・イエスにある神の諸教会の教えに従う者となりました。彼らがユダヤ人から受けたのと同じように、あなたがたも自分の同胞から同じような苦しみを受けたからです。

15 彼らは主イエスと自分たちの預言者たちを殺し、私たちを迫害しました。

17しかし、兄弟たち、わたしたちは、短い間、あなたがたの前から離れていました。――心では離れていませんでしたが、心まで取り去られたのではありません、――あなたがたの顔を見たいと、いっそう切に願ったのです。

2 私たちは、祈りのたびごとにあなたがたのことを覚え、いつもあなたがた一同のことを神に感謝し、

3 わたしたちの父なる神のみまえに、あなたがたの信仰の働き、愛の労苦、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストに対する希望の忍耐を、絶えず覚えているのです。

4 [1]愛する兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが神に選ばれていることを、私たちは知っています。

5 なぜなら、私たちの福音があなたがたに伝えられたのは、言葉だけでなく、力と聖霊と強い確信とによったからです。あなたがたのために、私たちがあなたがたの間でどんなに良い行い[2]をしたかは、あなたがたも知っているとおりです。

6 あなたがたは、多くの苦難の中で聖霊による喜びをもって御言葉を受け入れ、私たちと主に従う者となりました。

7 こうして、あなたがたはマケドニヤとアカイアにいるすべての信者の模範となりました。

8 主の言葉はあなたがたから出て響き渡り、ただマケドニヤとアカイアばかりでなく、あらゆる所にまで、神に対するあなたがたの信仰が広まったので、私たちは何も言う必要がないほどです。

9 彼らは、わたしたちがどのようにしてあなたがたのところに入って行ったか、また、どのようにしてあなたがたが偶像を捨てて神に立ち返り、生けるまことの神に仕えるようになったかを、わたしたち自身に告げ知らせています。

10そして、死人の中からよみがえらせた御子、すなわち、やがて来る怒りから私たちを救い出してくださるイエスが、天から来られるのを待ち望んでいるのです。
