2 私たちは、祈りのたびごとにあなたがたのことを覚え、いつもあなたがた一同のことを神に感謝し、

4 [1]愛する兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが神に選ばれていることを、私たちは知っています。

5 なぜなら、私たちの福音があなたがたに伝えられたのは、言葉だけでなく、力と聖霊と強い確信とによったからです。あなたがたのために、私たちがあなたがたの間でどんなに良い行い[2]をしたかは、あなたがたも知っているとおりです。

6 あなたがたは、多くの苦難の中で聖霊による喜びをもって御言葉を受け入れ、私たちと主に従う者となりました。

7 こうして、あなたがたはマケドニヤとアカイアにいるすべての信者の模範となりました。

8 主の言葉はあなたがたから出て響き渡り、ただマケドニヤとアカイアばかりでなく、あらゆる所にまで、神に対するあなたがたの信仰が広まったので、私たちは何も言う必要がないほどです。

2Th 1:4  so much so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure.

2Th 1:5  For this is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God for which you also suffer,

2Th 1:6  since it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you,

2Th 1:7  and to give rest with us to you who are troubled, at the revealing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with the angels of His power,

2Th 1:8  in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,

2Th 1:9  who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

2Th 1:10  when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day.

2Th 1:11  Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of the calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,

2Th 1:12  that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

テサロニケ人への手紙第１ 4章

1 そういうわけで、兄弟たちよ。私たちは主イエスによってあなた方に懇願し、あなた方に勧めます。あなた方は、どのように歩んで神を喜ばせるべきかを私たちから受けたのですから、ますます豊かになりなさい。

2 私たちが主イエスによってどんな戒めをあなた方に与えたか、あなた方は知っています。

1Th 4:11  and that you try earnestly to be quiet and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

1Th 4:12  so that you may walk becomingly toward those outside, and that you may lack nothing.

1Th 4:13  But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, that you be not grieved, even as others who have no hope.

1Th 4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.

1Th 4:15  For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.

1Th 4:16  For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.

1Th 4:17  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.

テサ２　２

１　さて兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの[1]来臨と、わたしたちが彼のみもとに[2]互いに集まることについて、私たちはあなたがたに[3]お願いします。

２　あなたがたは、あたかもキリストの日が[4]目前に迫ったように、すぐさま[5]心を[6]動揺させられたり、心配したりしてはいけません。霊によってでも、または言葉によっても、あるいはわたしたちからの出たかのような手紙によってでもです。

３　だれがどんな事をしても、決してそれにだまされてはなりません。なぜなら、まず[7]背教が起り、[8]不法の者、すなわち、[9]滅びの子が現れるまでは、その日は来ないからです。

４　その者は、すべて、神と呼ばれたり拝まれたりしているものに敵対して[10]高ぶります。そして彼は自ら神の宮に神として座し、自分が神であると[11]宣言します。

５　わたしがまだあなたがたの所にいた時、あなたがたにこれらの事を言ったのを思い出しませんか？

2Tseech you, my brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,

2Th 2:2  that you should not be soon shaken in mind or troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word or letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ is at hand.

2Th 2:3  Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition,

2Th 2:4  who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.

2Th 2:5  Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you?

2Th 2:6  And now you know what holds back, for him to be revealed in his own time.

2Th 2:7  For the mystery of lawlessness is already working, only he is now holding back until it comes out of the midst.

2Th 2:8  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming,

2Th 2:9  whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10  and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,

2Th 2:12  so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.

2Th 2:13  But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,

2Th 2:14  to which He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Th 2:15  Therefore, my brothers, stand fast and hold the teachings which you have been taught, whether by word or by our letter.

2Th 2:16  Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

2Th 2:17  comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

テサ２　３

１　最後に、兄弟たちよ。わたしたちのために祈っていて下さい。どうか主の言葉が、あなたがたの所と同じように、ここでも[1]速やかに広まり、また、栄光が帰されるように。

２　また、どうかわたしたちが[2]理不尽な人々や悪人から解放されるように祈って下さい。なぜなら、すべての人が信仰を持っているのではないからです。

３　しかし、主は真実なかたですから、あなたがたを[3]強め、悪しき者から守って下さるのです。

４　そしてわたしたちは、あなたがたがわたしたちが命じている事を実行しており、また、実行することを主にあって[4]確信しているのです。

５　どうか、主があなたがたの[5]心を導いて、神の愛とキリストの[6]堅固さとを持たせて下さいますように。

６　また兄弟たちよ。私たちは主イエス・キリストの名によってあなたがたに[7]命じます。[8]無秩序な歩み方をして、彼らがわたしたちから受けた言伝えに従わないすべての兄弟たちから[9]身を引きなさい。

７　なぜなら、あなたがたがわたしたちにどうならうべきかは、あなたがた自身が知っているからです。あなたがたの所にいた時には、わたしたちは[10]無秩序な生活をしませんでしたし、

８　[11]誰からもパンを[12]ただでもらって食べることもしませんでした。それどころか、夜も昼も[13]骨折り苦労して働き続けました。それはあなたがたのだれにも負担をかけないためです。

９　それは、わたしたちにその権利がないからではなく、ただわたしたちにあなたがたが見習うようにと、わたしたちがあなた方に対して身をもって模範を示すためなのです。

１０　また、わたしたちがあなたがたの所にいた時に、「だれでも働きたくない者は、食べることもしてはならない」と命じました。

１１　というのは、私たちは、あなたがたのうちのある者があなた方の間を無秩序に歩き回り、少しも働かないで、ただ[14]せわしく動きまわっていると聞いています。

１２　そこで私たちは、主イエス・キリストによってこうした人々に対して警告し、また[15]勧めます。[16]つつましく働き、彼ら自身で得たパンを食べなさい。

１３　しかしあなた方兄弟たちよ。あなたがたは、[17]怠らないで良い働きをしていなさい。

１４　もしこの誰でも手紙にしるしたわたしたちの言葉に従わない人があれば、そのような人には注意をして[18]付き合わないようにしなさい。彼が自ら恥じるようになるためです。

１５　しかし、彼を敵のように[19]みなさないで、兄弟として[20]穏やかに訓戒しなさい。

１６　どうか、平和の主ご自身が、どんな場合でもあなたがたに[21]絶える事のない平和を与えて下さいますように。主があなたがたご一同と共におられますように。

１７　パウロが、私自身の手であいさつを書きます。これはわたしのどの手紙にも書く[22]サインです。わたしは、どの手紙にもこのように書くのです。

１８　わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの恵みが、あなたがたご一同と共にありますように。アーメン

2Th 3:1  Finally, my brothers, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified, even as it also is with you.

2Th 3:2  And pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for all do not have the faith.

2Th 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and guard you from the evil.

2Th 3:4  And we have confidence in the Lord regarding you, that you both do and will do the things which we command you.

2Th 3:5  And may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

2Th 3:6  Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks disorderly, and not after the teaching which he received from us.

2Th 3:7  For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us. For we did not behave ourselves disorderly among you,

2Th 3:8  neither did we eat any man's bread freely, but we worked with labor and travail night and day, so that we might not be heavy on any of you

2Th 3:9  (not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example to you, to imitate us).

2Th 3:10  For even when we were with you, we commanded you this, that if anyone would not work, neither should he eat.

2Th 3:11  For we hear that there are some who walk disorderly among you, not working at all, but being busybodies.

2Th 3:12  Now we command and exhort those who are such, by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.

2Th 3:13  But you, brothers, do not be weary in well doing.

2Th 3:14  And if anyone does not obey our word by this letter, mark that one and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

2Th 3:15  Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

2Th 3:16  And may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.

2Th 3:17  The greeting of Paul by my own hand which is the sign in every letter, so I write.

2Th 3:18  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
